I started TheKnitknacks in 2010 when I designed my first tea cosy. I have always knitted but the design element was new to me. I come from a teaching background and decided to use my experience to run workshops at Knitting shows, Shops and Craft Fairs.

Towards the end of 2010 I decided to stock yarns and made the decision to only use natural fibres. The wools are sold online and at craft events and I use them to make up my knitting kits. Most recently I have made the decision to expand my range of British Wools and started to use UK Alpaca which come from Devon.I am currently sourcing new Britsh yarn and ethical yarn to sell.

I design a large range of knitted items including: hats, scarves, headbands, fingerless gloves and boot cuffs and am happy to have the challenge of designing for others. I have had many designs featured in Let’s Knit, Simply Knitting, Knit Now, Mollie Makes, The People’s Friend and on a number of internet sites. After being in business for a year I was approached by Search Press to design patterns on boot cuffs and hugs for a book in The 20 to Make Series and this is now published as well as five other knitting pattern books in this series. I am currently working on the seventh book for them which will be titled The Ultimate guide to Fair Isle.

In the future I hope to run more knitting workshops and expand my range of knitting kits. I would like to supply shops with a range of my goods to compliment my sales at craft events and online.

Please contact me if you would like to stock my goods or for me to run lessons or workshops privately or in your shop.
